The entire Odenwald area surrounding us (all
3,000 square miles of it) has more than its share of good eating.
There are tiny snack bars or Imbisses that feature home-cured bacon
and ham, “hand-cheese” and cooked-cheeses, sausages,
fresh fruits and vegetables, home-made preserves, cakes, honey and
the like, while rustic taverns, finer restaurants, elegant cafés
offer comprehensive menus.
And of course, asparagus is King from late April
through June 24th,every year. And, surprise, surprise - a
perfect accompaniment to that noble root is Schmucker’s delicate
Pils or low alcohol or even alcohol-free beers!
